Description
It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by covalently binding enzymes responsible for the final step in transpeptidation during peptidoglycan wall synthesis. This binding causes defects in the cell wall leading to autolysis and subsequent death of the organism

Uses
Cefepime is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:
- Treatment of moderate to severe infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria
- Management of pneumonia, including both community-acquired and hospital-acquired types
- Treatment of urinary tract infections
- Effective in managing intra-abdominal infections
- Treatment of skin and skin structure infections
Dosage
To be administered as per instruction of a healthcare practitioner
In case of Overdose
Overdose symptoms may include blood in urine, diarrhea, nausea, upper abdominal pain and vomiting. It may also cause encephalopathy and EEG changes. Seek medical help in case of overdose
Missed Dose
Try not to miss a dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. Then continue your normal schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

This medicine should be reconstituted and administered by or under the supervision of health care professional
When Not to Use
Do not use this medication if you are:
- allergic to any of its constituents
- allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins

Common side effects include:
- Black, tarry stools
- Chills, fever or cough
- Dark urine along with painful urination
- Stomach issues
- bleeding gums
Precautions & Warnings
Make sure to consult a doctor in case you already have:
- Malabsorption problems
- Alcohol abuse
- Allergy to Beta-lactamase inhibitors
- Kidney, liver, bowel or blood diseases.
- Severe anaphylactic or allergic reaction
- If symptoms do not improve
- Severe diarrhea
- Skin reactions

- Furosemide
