Tamsulosin is prescribed to men for the treatment of symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). These symptoms may include difficulty urinating (such as hesitation, dribbling, weak urine flow, and incomplete bladder emptying), painful urination, and frequent or urgent need to urinate.
